Corset Care
All our corsets are made with only the finest materials, steel bones, steel busks and resilient fabrics. They are easy to care for, and with proper treatment will last a lifetime.
Your corset will not need cleaning often. If you let your corset air (away from direct sunlight) this should be enough for the most part. When your corset does need dry cleaning you should ideally take it to a dry cleaner who has experience of cleaning corsets. Normal hand washing will eventually rust the bones which will also stain the outer fabric of your corset. The general rules to follow are:
- Air your corset after wearing
- Gently sponge clean any stains
- Dry clean occasionally
To avoid breaking the busks please loosen the lacing sufficiently to allow you to put on/take off corsets with ease. When trying your corset for the first time do not over-tighten the corset or you will damage it. Your corset will mould to your body after a short period and the material takes the strain evenly, then you can go a little tighter if you wish. Care instructions are included with every order and we are always here to help with any questions.
